Having fished hard for almost a month in the shallows swim I had got to know the fish movements pretty well.
This accumulation of knowledge was put to good use when the prevailing weather conditions pushed the fish into my swim.
I knew from the past weeks of experiences that the carp were avoiding the ‘spots’ and feeding deep in the weed beds.
I had seen this many times before on plenty of other lakes over the years and so knew what to do.
Bags were made up with 3 ounce in-line leads and short 4 inch Snakebite gold combi rigs, I call it ‘The Bomb’.
The idea being that you ‘drop’ your bait onto the exact spot the carp is feeding in.
No matter how heavy the weed, ‘The Bomb’ should always ‘drop’ through to the fish.
They can be real suckers for this method….

….when it all comes good of course:)
